A trav\u00e9s de una red de intelectuales y artistas nacionales y extranjeros, el mecenazgo imperial impuls\u00f3 la elaboraci\u00f3n de una galer\u00eda de h\u00e9roes, la circulaci\u00f3n de los rostros y cuerpos de los gobernantes, la valoraci\u00f3n del pasado prehisp\u00e1nico como punto de partida de la historia nacional fortalecida en el Museo Nacional y en la investigaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como la modificaci\u00f3n de la traza urbana de la capital. Este libro construye una apasionante narraci\u00f3n del Segundo Imperio que, a trav\u00e9s de una fina trama, acerca del campo de batalla por la hegemon\u00eda del pa\u00eds en el \u00e1mbito de la cultura y las artes.
