(Compilador) Colecci\u00f3n: Fuentes Las haciendas surgieron en la segunda mitad del siglo XVII debido a la extinci\u00f3n de la encomienda y la paulatina concentraci\u00f3n de tierras y trabajadores. Su origen lo motiv\u00f3 la necesidad de satisfacer la demanda de productos agropecuarios en los mercados urbanos y mineros. Estaban dedicadas a actividades agr\u00edcolas, pecuarias, extractivas y manufactureras; contaban con edificios e instalaciones permanentes y con un sistema administrativo y contable muy complejo que denotaba cierto grado de autonom\u00eda jurisdiccional.
