Los grandes avances de la ciencia y la tecnolog\u00eda europea dirigidos al conocimiento, atenci\u00f3n y prevenci\u00f3n de las enfermedades llegaron a M\u00e9xico durante el siglo XIX, mediante libros, litograf\u00edas, fotograf\u00edas, aparatos, instrumentos y f\u00e1rmacos que se difund\u00edan en sociedades cient\u00edficas, academias, hospitales, dispensarios y farmacias. Su impacto transform\u00f3 la forma en c\u00f3mo se percib\u00eda a la enfermedad y sus causas, provocada en muchas ocasiones por imperceptibles microorganismos que se miraron por primera vez a trav\u00e9s de la lente de los microscopios, mostrando sus inimaginables formas, tonalidades y efectos.<\/p>\n
