En M\u00e9xico, el 12 de octubre es la fecha oficial para conmemorar el encuentro de dos mundos. Durante a\u00f1os ha sido motivo para ensalzar el mestizaje mexicano, de profundas ra\u00edces ind\u00edgena y espa\u00f1ola. Sin embargo, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os la fecha ha perdido resonancia en el calendario c\u00edvico, al tiempo que algunos sectores de la sociedad han puesto en entredicho su conveniencia.<\/p>\n
El conversatorio es un recorrido por el pasado para comprender c\u00f3mo se construy\u00f3 y transform\u00f3 hist\u00f3ricamente el 12 de octubre, atendiendo a los factores pol\u00edticos, sociales y culturales que lo definieron durante el siglo XX. Tambi\u00e9n es una oportunidad para reflexionar acerca de las contradicciones y los problemas, de ayer y hoy, inherentes a esta celebraci\u00f3n en M\u00e9xico y el mundo.<\/p>\n
