Resumen:
Abstract: An important element to understand the development of the province of Zacatecas during colonial times is the demographic phenomenon. In this paper, we study some aspects of the dynamics of the population of Zacatecas to enrich this line of investigation. Specifically we analyze the following variables: population growth, labor force, ethnic composition of villages, migration, and population movements. We also analyze the reaction of the Zacatecas population to different events, such as epidemics, droughts, and floods.
