Resumen:

Abstract: This paper shows how the devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe spread out along the provinces that shaped the bishoprie of Michoacán during the viceroyship between the turn of the 17th century and the beginning of the 19th century. This devotion propagated along the current states of San Luis Potosí, Michoacán, Guanajuato, the south area which at the time used to be Guerrero and the Colima City Hall that passed on to Guadalajara’s bishoprie in the 1790´s.
