Abstract: Opera medicinalia, a book written by Dr. Francisco Bravo (?–1599?), who was born in Seville and graduated from the University of Osuna, was first published in Mexico City in 1570 by Pedro Ocharte. It is the oldest medical book published in Mexico and the Americas. It is a book with a history full of enigmas, some already resolved and others still remaining to be explored.
